Hi there, this is Ritu and I’m back with my vlog series on ‘How to speak more confidently in public’. Now, let’s talk today about the structure of a speech – how should a speech be structured?
I know they say a beginning, middle and an end is good but what does that really mean? Let’s think of it this way. A beginning is always warming up a subject or introducing an audience to the particular topic at hand. So, why are you here? What is the subject? And why are you talking about that subject? That’s a good way to start.
The middle should comprise not more than three points, ranging at least a minute to a minute and a half each. Make the point, elaborate on it. And the end should be a summation of all of your three points and a thought to leave the audience with. A beginning, a middle and an end. Try it next time and tell me what happens!
